DreamComfort Foldaway Rocking Bassinet
We designed the Ingenuity DreamComfort to solve two problems every parent faces: finding space in a nursery and getting baby to sleep peacefully. This bassinet folds completely flat in under 30 seconds, so you can tuck it behind a door or slide it under a bed when relatives visit or you need the room back. The gentle rocking motion calms fussy newborns without batteries or noise, and the breathable mesh sides keep air flowing while letting you see baby from every angle.

The DreamComfort’s patented hinge system collapses the entire bassinet to a 4-inch profile without removing the mattress or canopy. Press the two release buttons on the long rails, fold the ends inward, and snap the locking strap around the bundle — the whole process takes about 25 seconds once you’ve done it twice. We built this feature for parents who live in apartments, travel to grandparents’ houses on weekends, or simply want their nursery to serve double duty as a home office during toddler years.

Rocking motion & soothing
We engineered the DreamComfort’s rocking arc to mimic the gentle sway parents naturally use when holding a newborn — about 15 degrees of travel in each direction, smooth and silent on any hard floor or low-pile carpet. The curved base rails distribute weight evenly, so even a light touch from your hand sets the bassinet in motion without tipping or jerking. No motors, no batteries, no white-noise speakers that run out of charge at 2 a.m.
The rocking action works best on flat surfaces; thick rugs or uneven floors will dampen the swing. If you prefer a stationary bassinet for overnight sleep, simply slide the two included wedge stoppers under the base rails to lock the unit in place. Many parents rock baby to sleep during evening fussy periods, then engage the stoppers before transferring the bassinet to the bedroom for the night. The stoppers attach to the frame with elastic loops so they’re always within reach and won’t get lost in a drawer.

Mattress, sheet & canopy care
Mattress construction
The included mattress measures 31 inches by 16 inches and uses a dual-layer design: firm foam core for safe infant sleep, wrapped in a quilted cotton-polyester cover that wicks moisture away from baby’s skin. The mattress sits inside a zippered sleeve sewn into the bassinet floor, so it stays centered and won’t slide around when you pick up or rock the unit.
Washing the sheet and canopy
The fitted sheet pulls off in seconds and goes straight into your washing machine on a cold or warm cycle — we recommend washing it twice before first use to remove any manufacturing residue, then once a week during regular use. The full-coverage canopy detaches via four snap buttons and is also machine-washable, though most parents spot-clean it with a damp cloth between washes since it doesn’t contact baby’s skin directly. Both pieces tumble-dry on low heat, and we include one extra sheet in the box so you always have a backup during laundry day. Our full compatibility details and replacement part numbers live in the mattress and sheet guide if you want to order spares before baby arrives.

Questions About the DreamComfort Bassinet
Your baby can use the DreamComfort from birth until they reach 15 pounds or begin to push up on hands and knees, whichever milestone comes first. For most infants, that transition happens between three and five months of age. Once your baby shows signs of rolling over or pushing up, it’s time to move them to a crib for safety. The weight limit ensures the frame and mesh sidewalls maintain their structural integrity throughout the recommended use period.
No, the DreamComfort rocking motion is completely manual and requires no batteries, cords, or electrical outlets. The curved base rails let you start a gentle sway with a light touch, and the motion continues for several seconds before naturally slowing down. This design keeps the bassinet portable and eliminates the risk of motors failing or batteries dying in the middle of the night. If you prefer a stationary bassinet, simply slide the included wedge stoppers under the base rails to lock it in place.
Yes, both the fitted sheet and the canopy are machine-washable. Remove the fitted sheet from the mattress and wash it on a cold or warm cycle, then tumble dry on low heat. We recommend washing the sheet twice before first use to remove any manufacturing residue, then laundering it weekly during regular use. The canopy detaches via four snap buttons and washes the same way, though most parents find spot-cleaning with a damp cloth sufficient between full washes. The mattress core itself is not machine-washable, but you can wipe it down with a mild soap solution if needed.
When open and ready for use, the bassinet measures 33 inches long by 18 inches wide, with a height of 32 inches to the top of the canopy frame. This compact footprint fits easily next to a standard bed or in a corner of a nursery. When folded, the entire unit collapses to a 4-inch profile that you can store upright in a closet or slide under a twin bed frame. The 12-pound total weight makes it easy to move from room to room or carry to another floor of your home.
Yes, the DreamComfort meets all current ASTM F2194 standards for bassinets and complies with every CPSC safe-sleep guideline as of 2025. We test each production batch for structural integrity, fabric flammability, and small-parts hazards. Every unit ships with a sewn-in compliance label listing certification numbers and the manufacture date. The firm mattress, breathable mesh sides, and snug-fitting sheet align with pediatric recommendations for reducing SIDS risk. Never add loose blankets, pillows, or crib bumpers to the sleep area.
The DreamComfort package includes the steel frame with attached mesh sidewalls, the curved rocking base rails, a custom-fit mattress with zippered floor sleeve, one fitted sheet, a full-coverage canopy with support rods, two wedge stoppers to lock the rocking motion, and an illustrated quick-start guide. You’ll also find a sewn-in care label with washing instructions and a compliance card listing safety certifications. We include one extra fitted sheet in the box so you always have a backup during laundry day.
The rocking motion works best on hard floors like wood, tile, or laminate, where the curved base rails can move freely. You can use the bassinet on low-pile carpet, but thick rugs or high-pile carpet will dampen the rocking arc and make it harder to start or sustain the motion. If your nursery has plush carpet, consider placing a thin rigid mat under the bassinet to create a smooth surface for rocking. Alternatively, use the wedge stoppers to lock the unit in stationary mode on any surface.
