Foldaway Rocking Bassinet – Fletcher
We designed the Ingenuity Foldaway Rocking Bassinet Fletcher for families who need a safe sleep space that moves with them. This bassinet rocks gently to soothe your newborn, then folds flat in seconds for storage or travel.

The Fletcher bassinet’s steel tube frame provides a stable foundation for rocking motion without tipping. We tested the frame to support babies up to 15 pounds, which covers most newborns through approximately four months. Once your baby can push up on hands and knees, it’s time to transition to a crib.

Foldaway Design & Portability
How the Fold Mechanism Works
We built a single-press release button on each side of the Fletcher bassinet that unlocks the frame joints simultaneously. Press both buttons, guide the frame down, and the entire bassinet collapses to a 7-inch profile. The fabric and mesh stay attached, so you’re not wrestling with loose parts.
Travel & Storage Use Cases
Families use the foldaway feature for different reasons. Some tuck the bassinet into a closet during the day to reclaim floor space in small apartments. Others pack it in the car for weekend trips to grandparents’ houses. The folded unit fits into most vehicle trunks alongside a diaper bag and Pack ‘n Play. If you need step-by-step instructions, our guide to folding Ingenuity bassinets walks through the button sequence with photos for every model we make.

Fabric & Bedding Details
The Fletcher ships with a fitted sheet made from soft polyester that pulls off for machine washing. We recommend buying a second sheet so you always have a clean one ready during laundry day—our bassinet mattress and sheet guide covers compatible sizes and care tips for every fabric component.
Canopy & Mesh Panels
The removable canopy attaches with Velcro tabs and provides shade during daytime naps near windows. Four mesh panels wrap the sleeping area to promote cross-ventilation and let you check on your baby without leaning over the edge. The mesh is taut enough to prevent entrapment hazards but flexible enough to allow gentle airflow.

Questions About the Fletcher Bassinet
The Fletcher bassinet supports babies up to 15 pounds or until they can push up on hands and knees, whichever comes first. Most babies reach this milestone between three and five months. Once your baby shows signs of rolling or pushing up, transition to a crib for safety.
The weight limit applies to the baby only, not additional items like blankets or toys. We recommend keeping the bassinet clear of loose bedding to follow safe sleep guidelines.
Yes, the fitted sheet is machine-washable in cold water on a gentle cycle. We recommend air-drying or using low heat to preserve the fabric’s elasticity. The canopy is also removable and washable using the same settings.
The main fabric body attached to the frame can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid submerging the entire bassinet or using harsh chemicals that could damage the mesh panels.
When collapsed, the Fletcher measures approximately 33 inches long, 19 inches wide, and 7 inches thick. This profile fits into most closets, under beds, or in vehicle trunks alongside other baby gear.
The folded bassinet weighs around 12 pounds, so one person can carry it without strain. The fabric and mesh stay attached during the fold, so you don’t need to remove or reattach components each time.
No, the rocking motion on the Fletcher is manual and does not use batteries or electrical power. You give the bassinet a gentle push to start the rocking, and the curved base maintains the motion for several seconds before gradually slowing.
This manual design means you never need to worry about dead batteries during nighttime soothing. It also keeps the bassinet lightweight and free of cords that could pose safety hazards.
Assembly takes most parents under five minutes and requires no tools. Unfold the steel frame until you hear clicks at each joint, slide the mattress pad into the fabric base, and snap the fitted sheet over the pad corners. The canopy attaches with Velcro tabs if you choose to use it.
The instruction manual includes step-by-step diagrams, and warning labels are printed on the fabric as visual reminders. If any joint doesn’t click into place, double-check that the frame is fully extended before applying pressure.
The Fletcher uses a custom-fit sheet designed for its mattress dimensions. Standard crib or Moses basket sheets will not fit properly and could create loose fabric hazards. We sell replacement sheets separately through our store to ensure a snug, safe fit.
Using sheets not designed for this bassinet increases the risk of the fabric bunching or pulling loose during sleep. For your baby’s safety, stick with sheets made specifically for Ingenuity Foldaway Rocking Bassinets.
We offer a 30-day return window from the date of delivery for unused bassinets in original packaging. If you assemble the Fletcher and decide it’s not the right fit, you can still return it as long as the fabric shows no stains or damage and all components are included.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the bassinet arrived defective or damaged. Contact our customer service team to initiate a return and receive a prepaid shipping label if applicable.
