Ingenuity Dream Retreat 3-in-1 Portable Sleep Solution
We designed the Dream Retreat to solve a challenge every parent faces: finding one sleep solution that works in multiple rooms and travels easily. This 3-in-1 system functions as a bedside co-sleeper with adjustable height brackets, a standalone bassinet with a sturdy base, and a portable travel crib that folds flat in seconds.

The Dream Retreat’s frame uses powder-coated aluminum tubing that balances strength with weight—the entire unit is 14 pounds when assembled. We reinforced every joint with dual rivets and steel corner brackets, the same approach we use across our 3-in-1 bassinet collection. The fold mechanism uses a spring-loaded locking pin that releases with one hand, and the legs collapse inward so the frame stacks flat.

Bedside co-sleeper setup
The adjustable brackets attach to the Dream Retreat’s sidewall and hook under your mattress edge, holding the bassinet securely at bed height. The brackets slide up and down a track with eight locking positions, so the sleep surface aligns with mattresses ranging from 18 to 30 inches high. We designed the bracket system to work with platform beds, box springs, and adjustable bases.
One sidewall panel unzips completely when you use co-sleeper mode, creating an open side that lets you reach your baby without getting out of bed. The mesh panel stores in a zippered pocket on the frame, and you can reinstall it in seconds when you switch back to standalone bassinet mode. The frame stays stable even with the panel removed—we tested it with dynamic rocking loads exceeding typical use.

Mattress pad and fabric care
The custom-fitted mattress pad has a quilted polyester top layer, a waterproof polyethylene backing, and elastic corner straps that anchor it to the frame. We sized it to fit snugly without gaps around the edges, meeting CPSC guidelines for bassinet mattress fit. The pad removes in one motion—lift the corners and pull—so you can throw it in the washing machine after spit-ups or diaper leaks.
Mesh sidewall maintenance
The breathable mesh panels are sewn into the frame with reinforced stitching and resist sagging over time. You can spot-clean the mesh with a damp cloth and mild detergent, or remove the fabric sleeves entirely for deeper cleaning. We recommend air-drying all fabric components to preserve the waterproof backing’s integrity.

Dream Retreat questions answered
The Dream Retreat is our most portable model, designed specifically for families who travel frequently or need to move the bassinet between rooms multiple times a day. It folds flat in under 30 seconds and includes a carry bag, while models like the Dream Hero Starlight prioritize features like integrated sound machines and vibration. If portability is your top priority, the Dream Retreat is the right choice. If you want more built-in soothing features and plan to keep the bassinet in one location, consider our stationary models.
Yes, the adjustable brackets work with most adjustable bed frames as long as the mattress height falls between 18 and 30 inches when positioned flat. The brackets hook under the mattress edge rather than attaching to the frame itself, so they adjust along with your bed. Just make sure the bassinet sidewall aligns flush with your mattress when the bed is in your preferred sleep position, and always lock the brackets securely before placing your baby inside.
Press the release button on one of the legs—this disengages the locking pins on both sides simultaneously. Lift the frame upward, and the legs will fold inward while the mesh sidewalls collapse flat. The entire unit folds into a rectangular shape measuring 32 by 18 by 6 inches. Slide it into the included carry bag, and you’re ready to go. The process takes under 30 seconds once you’re familiar with it, and no tools are required.
The included mattress pad has a waterproof polyethylene backing that protects the frame from leaks and spit-ups. The pad is machine-washable, and we recommend having at least one spare on hand for middle-of-the-night changes. Replacement pads are available on our site and fit all Dream Retreat models. Make sure to air-dry the pads to preserve the waterproof layer’s effectiveness over time.
The Dream Retreat is rated for infants up to 20 pounds or until they begin to push up on their hands and knees, whichever comes first. Most babies reach this milestone around four to five months, though every child develops at their own pace. Once your baby starts showing signs of rolling over or pushing up, it’s time to transition to a crib for safety reasons. Never exceed the 20-pound weight limit even if your baby isn’t mobile yet.
Absolutely. The standalone bassinet mode uses the same frame without the bedside brackets attached. Just set it on a flat surface away from hazards, and the four legs provide a stable base. Many parents use co-sleeper mode at night and switch to standalone mode during the day in a different room. The conversion takes about 20 seconds—just remove the brackets and reinstall the mesh sidewall panel if you had it unzipped.
Yes, the Dream Retreat meets ASTM F2194 safety standards for bassinets, which cover structural integrity, mattress fit, and stability requirements. We also follow CPSC guidelines for bassinet design and labeling. Always follow the included safety instructions, place the bassinet on a flat surface, and keep soft bedding out of the sleep area.
